#obsessed: May/June Edition
In the midst of this intense heat wave, I’ve been a little behind on my monthly obsessions, so to make up for it here’s a double dose of favorites for both May and June. Here are ten things I’ve been #obsessed with this summer.
These French fisherman’s bags have been all over the internet lately. They’re the perfect summer tote and seem to have an infinite amount of stretch making them ideal for the farmer’s market or any other shopping trip. I chose a black version with cream details so I wouldn’t have to worry too much about it getting noticeably dirty.
I love stationery, but I always find I’m afraid to use super high-end notebooks. Little Muji spiral notebooks are the perfect solution. They’re affordable but the paper is still really nice to write on. I’m partial to the smaller sizes since they fit perfectly in any bag.
Over the past few months I’ve been able to check out a few great concerts, including two amazing free classical ones (a pianist and then a vocalist) and a K-Pop (my guilty pleasure!) one. They’ve all been amazing and a pleasant reminder of the power of live music, there’s really nothing else like it.
No matter the temperature you can never go wrong with a classic pair of sweats. My last pair was getting pretty old so I invested in a classic black pair from Roots. They’re super soft and comfortable and the slightly slim cut means they can work both inside and outside the house.
The slinky hair tie has been an item of interest for me for some time now. I recently tried some out and while they definitely won’t be replacing a classic black hair tie any time soon I really like the look they create. They’re a fun but subtle hair accessory, perfect for days when a boring black elastic just won’t do.
I’ll admit this top was a bit of an impulse buy, but it has turned out to be a great choice! I love the boxy, slightly cropped shape and the tiny ruffles paired with voluminous sleeves create a feminine yet minimal look.
In an attempt to seem more effortless, and French, and chic, I bought this easy striped dress. I chose to buy it a couple sizes too big so I could belt it and let it drape. The modal fabric is so soft and the Henley detail gives it just the right amount of interest.
This little transparent plastic portfolio is perfect for organizing! I keep my little Muji notebook and a pen inside it to keep them safe and easy to find in my bag. Plus, it’s a great way to make sure nothing gets wet when it rains.
I’ve been obsessed with Hoi Bo for a long time and this little linen tote was my most recent purchase from the brand. It is quite literally the perfect tote. It’s not too big or too small and has a cool, minimal aesthetic.
I bought a pair of Ozma's raw silk shorts near the end of last summer, but only really started wearing them this year. They are extremely comfortable yet the nubby raw silk fabric gives them a nice sheen meaning they can easily be dressed up or down depending on how you style them.
